News:

We have updated a few important features on the web, including contact information.   We have a PHONE number for calling scores for those that are web-challenged.  There are several ways to enter scores.

You can use this link -  League Statistics , or jump there from this page, and back again .

The Phone Number for scores is:   (412) 223-7320

The email for scores is: PDA.Scores@gmail.com, or directly to the statistician at pudge017@yahoo.com.

Captain's can enter team scores directly through the League Statistics site by logging on as team captain.  Your logon has been mailed to you.

In any case, all scores and ASP should be entered and checked by noon Friday of the week played.  If not, you may be locked out as Pudge updates the scores and locks them in for the standings updates.

General Updates - These items were emailed out at start of the season:

The schedule for Monday Night is up and going. A copy of each will be sent to each captain, but should also be here on the webpage. There are four teams this season on Monday playing round robin for twelve weeks. The new team is Mullen's on Carson Street on the South Side. Play starts on February 11th at 7:30 for Monday Night and will be done by the first week in May. One week at Easter for makeup's. Captain's keep track of your All Star Points if you want to have your high Score paid. ASPs are voluntary, but we do pay. The type and number are found on the score sheet.

Tuesday night will be posted later today after some review with the league stats guys to make sure we have it right. Kick off will be Tuesday February 12th with a start at 8:00 PM. This is also the season that player fees are due for 2013. One time, $20 per player fee is due along with team and bar fees .

The News and Events Section will be updated along with our Facebook page and Twitter account. You can link to our Facebook page off the top of this page. Our Twitter is @pghdarters.

Payouts

Per past practice, we are paying out to two places for all divisions (3rd place kicks in at 6 teams).   Monies coming from Team Fees and some Bar Fees to balance out Tuesday night.

Monday $

Tuesday A & B - $300 - $100 each

ASP will be voluntary, and paid as before

$25 per high ASP per team

$50 per high ASP per division.

Will keep track of High-outs/High-in etc.

Game Format:

We are using one format.   This is the HISTORICAL PDA format, most currently used on Tuesday nights.   Contrary to some thoughts I’ve seen, it is not a “Tuesday night” format, but the format used by the league for years until a few season’s ago when modified for Monday nights in an effort to speed things up and provide for novice player skill sets.   That has not worked to any great degree for either manner, and only created a longer night by extending the number of times a team stepped up to the oche.  Thus, we are using a single format that is the historical league format.   A PDF explanation of our thinking is attached for your review.

General Fees and rules for the season are below:

    • Teams need $50 bar fee, $100 team fee. A player fee of $20/year is required for players on the team who play more than twice . The Team fee is paid back in full as winnings for the season. The player fee is used for the annual banquet. The bar fee is discretionary, and is used for board updates, Seasonal LODs e.g., Turkey Shoot, and hospitality suite at Youngstown tourney. These can, and have been at times, applied to winnings in spring season if a positive, significant balance exists.
    •  Fees:  In the future, Captains should bring those with them to the Captain's meeting.  For those that don't or can’t, you will have until the 3rd week of the season to deliver current and past due fees.   No excuses.  We have a mailing address to send them to if you wish to mail them in:

      The Pittsburgh Darters

      10 Clover Drive, #2

      Pittsburgh , PA 15236

      • Point deductions from the season bonus will be made retroactive to the start of the season after 3 weeks for teams that are not paid by then.  This includes player fees due as well.   Teams with past due amounts or a history of past due amounts may not be scheduled for the season.
      • We've decided to go with the same game format for both Monday and Tuesday.  We are the same league; we'll play the same games.  It will give us a better idea of how we stand in the league if both nights are playing the same format.  It will also help Monday night get done a little bit earlier -- an ongoing gripe.
      •   Start times are moved to 7:30 by request.   You have until 8:15 to start the games without penalty.
      •   We have some out charts that can be put up in your bar if you wish to have them.  We think they should be in all dart playing establishments.  A sample will be available at the Captain's meeting.

All charter information and rules can be found on the Rules Tab off the front Page.
